Hole 19 published an article a few days ago about improving your putting and added two ideas that may improve one’s ability to make more putts.
First Idea: Use the Gate Drill
First is using the gate drill where one places tees on either side of the intended line and the putter practices on stroking the ball between the tees. This concept is great and has been around since the game was invented.

What it doesn’t do, however, is provide the feedback necessary to know what the putting stroke is doing during the swing to determine how to actually square the club at impact. To truly improve your putting abilities, add the OnePuttPro™ into the equation. Use it while hitting between the tees.
This will dynamically improve your ability to hit the sweet spot every time.
Second Idea: Use the Pace Drill
The same is true of their second recommendation concerning the pace of your stroke. Direction and distance are the only two absolutes for any golf stroke, which is where the pace drill comes into play.
But this is especially true on the greens. It certainly does not help if you hit a perfect stroke at a pace that puts you in three putt territory, or hit the ball with the perfect stroke in the wrong direction.
The best way to make putts is too practice the fundamentals over and over again with the ability to know how and why your movement provides the desired result of a perfectly paced putt in the perfect direction.
Attaching the OnePuttPro™ to your club and recording your putts as you practice the fundamentals is a surefire way to improvement. All of the above goes to becoming a competent putter. A competent putter will learn to be confident when approaching the putt.
Once confident, the user will be committed to the stroke. Competence, confidence and commitment will all lead to making more putts.
Best of Both Worlds
OnePuttPro™ is a smart training aid that builds a golfer’s competence by providing instant feedback, which is necessary to become confident and committed to the game. If it is utilized with the gate drill and the pace drill, a golfer will improve at a much faster pace.
